America should celebrate reaching 300 million in population in November 2006. The U.S. reached 200 million in 1968 and it was only mentioned briefly in a speech by President Johnson. America reach 100 million in population in 1915 and will reach 400 million in 33 more years. Americans should not only sponsor a national celebration but national discussions about where we have been as a nation and where we should be headed.
